Violoncello
Guido Larisch

Guido Larisch comes from a family of musicians from Hanover. In addition to training as a pianist, and studying cello under Rudolf Metzmacher, André Navarra, Friedrich Jürgen Sellheim and Klaus Storck at the Colleges of Music in Hanover and Detmold, he began playing the Baroque cello at the Studio for Historical Music at the College for Music and Theatre in Hanover in 1977 under Lajos Rovotkay.
In the following years he was a quest in many ensembles and orchestras as second principle and a soloist, including two years at Les Musiciens du Louvre under Marc Minkowski. He has been a member of the Ensemble Musica Alta Ripa, the Apponyi Quartet and the Trio Cantabile. Recently, Guido Larisch has also frequently been invited to a variety of opera houses (e.g. the Hamburg State Opera, The Bavarian State Opera, and the Teatro Liceu in Barcelona) as second principle and cello continuo.
Many of his chamber music recordings on CDs have won prizes. Guido Larisch has been a member of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra since 1989.
Stefan Mühleisen

After his initial cello courses with Vladimir Pozar and Zsolt Polgar, and early awards in competitions, Stefan Mühleisen received a scholarship from Baden-Württemberg’s Artistic Trust and invitations to the chamber music courses of the German Music Council. At the age of fifteen, he was accepted for the youth classes of the Trossingen College of Music. He then studied under Gerhard Hamann, Gerhard Mantel and Siegfried Palm. Courses, amongst others under Walter Levine (the Lasalle Quartet) and William Pleeth, supplemented his education. During his studies he was already a member of the Stuttgart Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, principally devoted to the interpretation of contemporary music; whilst he was also a cellist for the Arriaga Quartet. He became a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra Freiburg in 1992, after an engagement in the Baden State Chapel Karlsruhe. Stefan Mühleisen has been a member of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra since 2005.
