Schubert and Mendelssohn

Could there be stronger contrasting moods than the ones between Schubert's "Tragic" and Mendelssohn's music to his "Midsummer Night's Dream"? Perhaps. And between them the enthusiastic and cheerful third symphony by Schubert. With this rather unusual programme the musicians of the FBO and the young Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado set sails for nothing less than the musical soul of the Romantic era.
